LIA Appoints Matt Sturgess as CEO

The Lighting Industry Association (LIA) has welcomed Matt Sturgess as its new CEO

Sturgess, who took up his position on 12 April 2021 replaces interim CEO, Paul Crisp, who has supported the organisation's planning for the post-Covid-19 era.

Following a career as an electronics graduate engineer who was sponsored by a Thorn EMI, Sturgess moved into sales and progressed into senior roles in different industries, with a passion for personal learning and development. Drawing from his experience supporting growth in blue chip global businesses and SMEs, he gained an MBA degree along the way.

More recently, he has worked within the lighting industry having operated as the Commercial Director of Sylvania Lighting and managing director at Simmonsigns.

The lighting Industry has undergone a series of changes in recent years, and one of the challenges facing the association's new CEO will be promoting the growth of its members.
