EUMETSAT Contract Award
Serco Germany has secured a six-year contract with an estimated value of £20 million to support the European Organisation for the Exploitation of Meteorological Satellites (EUMETSAT).
The framework agreement relates to EUMETSAT's EPS & EPS-SG Analyst and Controller Service, which captures and processes observational data from satellites operated by the European operational satellite agency for monitoring weather, climate and the environment from space.
Serco is leading an industrial consortium providing EUMETSAT with a managed service operated by a team of analysts and controllers in charge of controlling the EUMETSAT Polar System and EUMETSAT Polar System-Second Generation satellite family, which represents the new generation of polar-orbiting weather satellites. By providing this service, Serco will make sure that the European and non-European weather forecast community receives reliable and uninterrupted data from these satellites.
