Sodexo Joins G7 Business for Inclusive Growth (B4IG) Coalition
The OECD has recognised Sodexo's leadership in tackling gender inequality by including the French multinational food and facility services group in its listing of G7 Business for Inclusive Growth (B4IG) coalition partners.
In 2018, Sodexo undertook an internal Gender Balance Study to expand previous research on the business case for parity in the representation of men and women in senior managerial positions.
Women currently make up 37 per cent of Sodexo's Executive Committee, and 54 per cent of members on its Board of Directors, with the company actively encouraging their increased participation in "gender networks" across its global organisation.
Sodexo has also committed to increasing senior female representation to 40 per cent by 2025, a target that is linked to 10 per cent of the annual bonuses which are paid to senior executives.
Commenting on the listing, Rohini Anand, Senior Vice President Corporate Responsibility and Global Chief Diversity Officer for Sodexo, said:
"Our global gender balance strategy is a key driver in ensuring that both women and men have equal access to growth and opportunities in our workplace. Achieving gender equality drives our performance and is critical to reaching a Better Tomorrow for our employees, our clients and consumers, and the communities we serve.
"Under the leadership of our SoTogether advisory board, gender equality will help us attract talent, better understand consumers and empower women."
Peter T. Grauer, Chairman of Bloomberg and the Founding Chairman of the U.S. 30% Club, added:
“We applaud Sodexo and the other 229 firms tracked by the index for their action to measure gender equality through the Bloomberg GEI framework.
“Sodexo’s GEI inclusion is a strong indicator to its employees, investors and industry peers alike that it is leading by example to advance ongoing efforts for a truly inclusive workplace."
