Digitising Access to Managed Lets

Real Estate, EMEA, Smart Facilities, Supplier News, PropTech

An innovative partnership between smart intercom company Klevio and home rental service provider Hostmaker will give digital access to Airbnb guests in the UK.

Under the deal, Hostmaker which works with more than 2,000 hosts globally, will offer them exclusive discounts for connecting their existing intercom systems to Klevio One - a smart device that generates a digital key for use by iOS and Android devices.

Designed for compatibility with a range of door systems, Klevio's solution is suitable for houses as well as apartments as it works with intercom systems in individual properties to control private, as well as communal, doors with a single swipe and press of a button. Its practical applications include allowing short-let agents to open doors remotely for late arrivals.

Discussing the partnership, Hostmaker's Head of Guest Services, Veronica Rivas, said:

"Klevio was a no brainer for us. We’ve been eager to work with the team and make the technology available to our hosts for a long time. Having Klevio installed as standard for all our future host properties will make a marked difference to us as a company and to our guests.

"We were one of the first to spot the opportunity to make home sharing hassle free for Hosts and Guests and believe we’re doing so again when it comes to improving our services.

"We want to provide added reliability to our guests. Sometimes travel disruption can cause problems outside of everyone’s control, and we want to be able to give access to our guests remotely, as well as in person, to ensure a great quality of service, security benefits and easy of control and tracking for our overseas property owners."

Aleš Špetič, CEO and co-founder of Klevio which has similar agreements with other property management companies, including, Stay Keepers, Perch, Club Living and Urang Group since launching in May 2018, added:

"Klevio offers a fantastic solution to two common problems - greeting visitors and key management.

"A lot of time and money goes into having a person available at the property to meet guests and handover keys, and into getting keys to anyone who may service the space, like a cleaner.

"Klevio removes the hassle and provides the company with a log showing when people have accessed the property, and keys can be revoked at any time. So when delays happen or plans change, there’s a new option to ensure guests gain access easily, without the use of a lock box."

Ben Khiaban, Lettings and Residential Manager for Urang Property Management, agreed, saying:

"Klevio is a game changer and is disrupting the Property Management Agency industry. The time, money and hassle saved by remotely letting in contractors, surveyors and anyone else is staggering. Klevio has improved our efficiency and differentiated us from other management firms on the market."
