2016 Institute of Directors award nominee, James Piper.
Bristol Executive Shortlisted for IoD's Young Director of the Year Award
ecosurety’s commercial director James Piper is in the running for the prestigious Institute of Directors (IoD) Young Director of the Year Award.
James, 28, who started at the resource efficiency specialist as a graduate trainee, will compete against 12 others contenders from across the United Kingdom at a ceremony in London this Autumn. Named IoD Young Director for the South West region, he is now vying for the national title which will be announced at the Lancaster London Hotel on 21 October.
James says, “I am bowled to have made it to the final of such a prestigious award. To be among some of the leaders the biggest names in business in the UK is extremely humbling. The fantastic ecosurety team has supported me every step of the way.
“I am very much looking forward to representing ecosurety on the national business stage later this year.”
Since he started at ecosurety in 2009, James has worked in every department of the business, including marketing, sales and IT.
During that time the Patchway resident has helped the company evolve into one of the fastest growing resource efficiency specialists in the UK, with 14 new graduates recently joining.
Last year James was instrumental in driving forward ecosurety’s journey-share scheme joinmyjourney, which has now been taken up by a number of large city employers, including the city’s Temple Quarter Enterprise Zone (BTQEZ), home to more than 300 businesses, in addition to UWE, North Bristol NHS Trust, as well as at Aztec West business park, where ecosurety is based.
He also lobbies the Government on waste issues, and oversees the company’s management and benefits structure. ecosurety was recently among just seven percent of companies to be awarded an Investors in People Gold award.
