New from Tyrrell Products is an intelligent branch power monitoring system that features the ability to identify tripped circuit breakers; without the need for auxiliary contacts.

Tyrrell Products Managing Director Ged Tyrrell explains, “Monitoring loads in electrical distribution is fundamental to energy management, cost control and the reduction in downtime. Being able to generate a host of alarms, including breaker trips, is a key aspect of energy management.”

With over 60 patents, Tyrrell Products Branch Monitoring system is designed and built in the UK. Featuring high accuracy solid core Hall Effect current transducers or split core sensors, the system offers on board local processing to minimise noise and improve accuracy. Industry standard communication protocols Modbus RTU or BACnet provide a link to BMS and SCADA systems. Alarms can also be sent via email or SMS. The system automatically generates web based graphics for remote monitoring via the Internet.

The system provides kWH, kVA, Amps and harmonic measurements with high accuracy. Additionally, inputs from a host of sensors for temperature, humidity and others, create a complete and cost effective monitoring solution. Optional voltage monitor provides real-power measurement for accurate billing. DIN rail mounting or designed to fit into a standard LV distribution board the system can also be used by a rack based power distribution unit.
