Inaugural High-level Summit for a Cleaner, Greener India

Company News, Events

SingEx Exhibitions and Franchise India launch inaugural high-level summit to drive sustainability for a cleaner and greener India.

SingEx Exhibitions and Franchise India will launch Clean & Green India 2016 (CGI 2016) on 7 April 2016 at the Pullman & Novotel, Aerocity, New Delhi, India. Themed Paving the Way for a Sustainable Future, the two-day event provides a platform for the clean, waste and environment management businesses in Asia including India to come together, network and exchange industry knowledge.
Adrian Sng, General Manager of SingEx Exhibitions said, “SingEx Exhibitions has organised and managed successful events in the environment and waste management industry in Asia since 2012. Our partnership with Franchise India will allow us to combine our strengths and tap on the company’s knowledge and wide connections in India to produce a quality business platform that will accelerate the growth and advancement of India’s cleaning and waste management industries.”

The launch of the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan, otherwise known as Clean India Mission in October 2014 has created more opportunities for the cleaning, waste management and environment companies in India. However, there are challenges including structural, technology, cost-efficiencies and others that these companies face to improve the cleaning and waste management in India. These challenges have triggered these companies to look beyond India to find solutions and investors for the waste management infrastructure.

Against this dynamic backdrop, CGI 2016 was developed to gather the business and industry leaders from Asia to share innovations and business solutions, and explore collaboration opportunities with the local companies in India. These collaborations will enable the companies to offer more innovative and economical clean and waste management solutions to achieve the nation’s goal.
Underscoring the importance of the inaugural event, Sachin Marya, President of Franchise India said: “India’s clean & green industry is taking giant growth steps following the launch of Swachh Bharat Abhiyaan by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in 2014. Instead of using 20th century clean and green business ideas and retrofitting for efficiency down the line, imbibing global innovative business ideas right from the start will enable rapid progress towards building a sustainable, clean and green nation.

By bringing industry players, smart technology and international expertise together to enrich the industry, Franchise India has played a significant role in modernising business sectors in India with new start-up ideas and business models. We are very excited to host Clean & Green India 2016 in partnership with SingEx Exhibitions. This event will bring together global innovations in clean, waste and environment management and will open up new business opportunities and bring forth latest trends, best practises for the clean, waste and environment management sectors.”

At the summit, over 20 renowned industry speakers from Asia and the Americas will deliver critical insights on industry trends and developments, industry opportunities and challenges, innovative solutions, future outlook of the industry and many more. It will help the local companies stay abreast of innovative business models and solutions from other countries in Asia.  Some of the topics which will be discussed are:

  • Outlook for the Indian economy and what it means for Clean & Green India by Dr Anil K Gupta who is one of the world’s leading experts on strategy, globalisation and entrepreneurship. He is also the Michael D Dingman Chair in Strategy, Globalisation & Entrepreneurship, Smith School of Business, The University of Maryland. He will present the economic outlook and challenges India will face and its impact on sustaining a clean and green India.

  • Sharing Singapore's expertise for a sustainable and liveable city by Mr Tay Lian Chew, Regional Director, South Asia Group of International Enterprise (IE) Singapore who will share how Singapore companies offer world-class technological solutions to tackle environmental and waste management challenges.

Mr Tay also commented, “The inaugural Clean and Green India 2016 organised by SingEx Exhibitions and Franchise India is a timely event that can contribute to the discussion on clean and green initiatives in India.  The conscious incorporation of waste management and environmental solutions into India’s economic agenda will lead the country on a sustainable growth path.   These areas have opened up new opportunities and frontiers for partnerships between India and Singapore companies. IE Singapore will bring together Singapore companies with a strong track record in water management and industrial cleaning to share our expertise in these areas at the event.”

Through the panel sessions, delegates will have the opportunity to engage in focused discussions on infrastructure investment opportunities, and green infrastructure opportunities and challenges in India. Some of these sessions are moderated by the leader of the industry, Dr Amiya Kumar Sahu, President & Founder of National Solid Waste Association of India (NSWAI) who will moderate the sessions; Addressing the waste challenge in India: Challenges, issues and opportunities and Infrastructure Investment Opportunities in India: Assessing Investor’s Appetite.
In addition, the inaugural Clean & Green India 2016 Awards will also take place on 8 April 2016. The awards will recognise the efforts and significant contributions including smart innovations, successful green businesses and cutting-edge technologies.
