£2,000 raised by The Changing Workplace
Morning Coffee + Afternoon Tea = £2,000 raised by The Changing Workplace
The beginning of October saw The Changing Workplace (CWP) bring out the cakes, coffee and tea in aid of Macmillan Cancer Support’s “World’s Biggest Coffee Morning”.
Staff baked a delicious selection of home-made cakes including brownies, gingerbread, coffee and walnut, Victoria sponge, chocolate and a mouth-watering gluten free clementine cake.
These were all served alongside coffee shop quality lattes, cappuccinos and mocha’s made by CWP’s very own event co-ordinator, barista and software developer Kirk Northrop.
Morning coffee was such a success that afternoon tea was made available later in the day and the few remaining cakes were all eaten!
As well as food and drink there was a sweepstake to guess the number of chocolate buttons in a jar and tickets on sale for Macmillan's national raffle, with the chance to win a new car.
The event has now raised over £200 for Macmillan and when added to other sporting events that the company has already fundraised for on behalf of charities since the start of the year it brings the total to over £2,000.
Community spirited staff at The Changing Workplace have already participated in the Brighton Half Marathon, Greater Haywards Heath Bike Ride, London to Brighton Bike Ride and the Race for Life.
