Leela Group to manage US$ 1 billion Taj Arabia
Leading Indian hotel operator will manage Taj Arabia Palace Resort in 2015.
Link Global Group, sub-developer of the Taj Arabia Palace Resort, has announced Indian luxury hotel operator, Leela Group, will manage Dubai's newest "wedding" destination when it is completed in 2015.
The US$ 1 billion (AED 3.67 billion) project modeled on the design of Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan's Taj Mahal palace in Agra, will form part of the ambitious 41 million square foot Falconcity project on the Emirates Road. Falconcity has been themed on the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World.
FM Magazine understands the mixed-use development will feature a 400-room hotel and seven buildings incorporating 300 serviced apartments, wedding boutiques, a gold souk (market) and banqueting halls with places for 3,000 guests.
Landscaping is expected to include architectural motifs from both the Mughal era and Indian Raj, and a promenade walkway flanked by restaurants and lifestyle outlets.
Speaking at the International Property Show 2013 in Dubai, Link Global chairman Arun Mehra described the project as a "magnificent architectural wonder" and revealed his company is currently in negotiations with several contractors.
Salem Al Moosa, chairman at master developers Falconcity, referred warmly to the "common passion" and synergy between the two companies.
