New Beginnings for Ayrshire FM Business

The launch of Confida FM promises a bright new future for a wife and husband management team - and the facilities management industry in Scotland...and beyond.

A brand new business dawn broke on the 1st of June for Irvine-based facilities management specialists Lorraine and Ian Murray. 

 

Following an asset transfer from Sercon Security Services Ltd owner Paul Gratton to Sercon’s wife and husband management team at the end of May, the Murrays hit the floor running on Thursday with their new company, Confida FM Ltd. 

 

The couple already have concrete commercial ambitions for the future of Confida. They will be consolidating their existing commercial cleaning, security and property management service contracts, and new business plans have been drawn up which aim for significant growth across Scotland and the UK.

 

Lorraine Murray MBE, the company’s Chief Executive said, “It’s an absolutely wonderful opportunity to make a fresh start with Confida. It’s a brand new business but we bring over 35 years worth of facilities management experience between us, and some big ideas. We’re already developing some really exciting strategic plans which will keep the high quality and personal touch we offer our clients, but also give us real scope for expansion.

 

“We know we can deliver even better facilities management service for our customers, and we can’t wait to get started. What’s more, our management team are already on board with the new business. There’s a new dynamic going on - everyone is as excited and committed as we are to fulfil the growth potential of Confida.”

 

Over 300 Sercon staff have been transferred to start work with their new employer on launch day. Thanks to this staffing continuity and a carefully planned business transfer, Confida’s new owners are determined that existing customers will experience no reduction in service delivery. Lorraine Murray is delighted to offer this consistency plus an ongoing commitment to her workforce, at the same time as getting strategic planning underway for the future.
