Smart Building Systems Provider Certified to ISO 27001

Company News, Energy Management, EMEA, Commercial Property
MeteoViva GmbH's information security management system (ISMS) has been certified by TÜV Rheinland to ISO 27001.

With cybersecurity becoming a critical concern in corporate real estate management, MateoViva was subjected to a an in-depth audit by the certifying body to assess the effectiveness of its ISMS in preventing unauthorised data access, data loss and data falsification.

Assessors also scrutinised the company's ability to detect and mitigate security risks at an early stage.

Attending a ceremony to present the certificate, Herbert Merkens, TÜV Rheinland's Lead Auditor, said: "It was clearly noticeable that both the management and the ISMS team were driving the certification, and generally invest a lot of time and thought into the topic of information security."

Dr. Stefan Hardt, a spokesperson for MateoViva's management board, added: "With the ISO certification, we are demonstrating we can offer our customers a high level of information security.

"We also assume that more and more companies will demand data security and data protection from their building automation service providers. Having an active ISMS will be a business requirement in the future". This applies all the more when doing business with customers who work in critical infrastructures, for example public authorities, airports or public utilities."

Under its programme of continuous monitoring, TÜV Rheinland will undertake annual audits to ensure the continuing robustness of MateoViva's ISMS.

Dr. Hardt discusses MateoViva's emphasis on IT security in a recent interview.
