Family Lighting Business Named as Business Award Finalist

Company News, Lighting, EMEA
A Test Valley business is in the running to pick up a prestigious award which recognises the outstanding contribution companies are making to the Hampshire community and economy.

Planned Lighting Maintenance (PLM) are finalists in the Inspire Business Awards 2018 in the Family Business of the Year category. The company which is based in Whitchurch, beat strong competition from entrants throughout north Hampshire to make it to the category shortlist.

PLM caught the attention of the judges due to its strong family ethos which has governed the company’s operation since it was established in 1968 by Roy Sands. It is currently under the guidance of Roy’s daughter, Karen Davis, who is Managing Director. The company has grown exponentially since it was founded. It now boasts a UK-wide operation with clients including many well known and household names in prestigious locations.

Managing Director, Karen Davis, said: “We are honestly so thrilled to be finalists in the Inspire Business Awards 2018. We are particularly happy that it is the Family Business of the Year category as this is something which is so important to us at PLM. Family values impact on everything we do as a real and tangible way to keep my mum and dad’s legacy alive.”

The finalists will now be put to a judging panel to decide who will be the overall winner. All Inspire 2018 winners will be announced at a glamorous ceremony on Thursday 22 November at the Hampshire Centre Court Hotel in Basingstoke.

A representative of the Inspire Business Awards 2018 judging panel said: "We have been so impressed with both the quality and quantity of the entries for this year's Inspire Business Awards. It really does paint a fabulous picture of the calibre of business here in north Hampshire. The judging panel certainly had their work cut out for them by selecting the finalists, and will do so again when selecting the overall winners in each category. We look forward to celebrating the success of companies in our region at the award ceremony next month."
